Bannockburn House

Location: Central Otago
Completion: 2005

Brief:

The client wanted a home that would fit into the landscape, and was open to suggestions as to it's materiality and built form.

The result is a series of interlocking building blocks that sit back into the elevated site - a series of wine crates on the land, reflecting the client's deep passion for wine and heartfelt connection to the region's viticultural industry.

The building has a two-staged brief with the third 'crate', a bedroom wing, proposed off the glazed entry link in the future.

The house connects with the land and allows the
user to enjoy its simplicity.
